Skilled and compassionate acupuncture services

F.A.Q.

We got you!

It is important that you feel at ease and welcome when you arrive to the clinic. So here are the most frequently asked questions from patients:

What should I bring?

  • Your medications and supplements or a list of them
  • Water to rehydrate after treatment
  • Any medical records or similar which may be relevant to your visit

How should I dress?

Comfortable, lose clothes to expose arms and legs and/or in layers. You may be asked to undress to expose the area of concern for treatment (for example, lower / upper back, or abdomen)

Does acupuncture hurt?

Most people describe the insertion of acupuncture needles as a little pinch, other people do not feel it at all. Most people agree that despite the potential “pinch”, the experience is relaxing and destressing.

Who can get acupuncture?

Anyone can get acupuncture, even children! However, before any treatment is done, the acupuncturist will review medical health history, and develop an individualized treatment plan together with patients.

Where can I find out more about Chinese Medicine and Acupuncture?

  • Check out our blog here for more information about acupuncture.
  • Acupuncture is constantly being researched. The newest, most reliable evidence-based information can be found in medical journals and research databases. The HSE, NSH, and WHO websites also are good places to start learning about medical acupuncture.

How can I pay?

You can pay in cash, paypal, or online with your credit card or bank card.

How many treatments will I need?

A good rule of thumb to use is that the more chronic the condition is the longer it will take to be sorted out. Your acupuncturist will be happy to work with you to achieve your health goals together. It is hard to gauge individual’s response to treatment, but we know that the higher patient compliance (naturopathic advice, and lifestyle adjustments), the better outcome in the shortest time. We developed the option of 6 visits, because it seems that most patients see significant changes by then, to the point that they can transition to maintenance visits (once or twice a year).

Is there are referral program?

Yes! we want to show our appreciation for sharing your healing experience with others by extending a 10% discount on your next visit or package purchased, when a new patient establishes care at our clinic because or your referral. Make sure to let your friends and family know to mention your name under the “how did you learn about Curam Acupuncture” question, in the patient questionnaire.
